Hi y’all– Alexis here! I’m a twenty-something year-old Counseling Psychology PhD candidate by day. Besides that, I’m an avid podcast listener and lover of art, poetry, music, and books! I’ve also long had a love for writing, and as you can probably guess by my educational pursuit, I’m passionate about all things mental health. I’ve been wanting to try my hand at this blogging thing for quite some time, so here I am, doing the thing.

The whole idea for this blog is rooted in my belief that in order to embark on the journey of evolving into the best version of ourselves, there’s a whole lot of unlearning, or what I like to call, unmasking, that takes place. I’ve spent the last few years on this journey of unmasking and encouraging others do the same through my work as a therapist (like as an actual therapist and in my friend groups, lol). As a disclaimer: this blog is not meant to be a substitute for therapy. In fact, I think unmasking is done best with the support of a licensed mental health provider (check out the find a therapist page for more information about how to find one). Through this blog, I hope to share some of my experiences and lessons with y’all– my friends and whatever strangers happen to stumble upon this blog. Here’s to us, unmasking, unlearning, messing up, and finding new paths.

Let’s evolve together, shall we?
